What I liked

Excellent technical leadership and freedom to publish/present research. Great tooling, access to labs and collaboration with global teams.

Areas for improvement

Contract role had less clarity around promotions and benefits compared to full-time employees. Sometimes coordination across timezones is hard.

Aug 20, 2025

What I liked

Great focus on product and security. Fortinet invests in training, has strong mentorship and the engineering teams are collaborative. Good work-life balance with hybrid policy.

Areas for improvement

Occasionally priorities shift quickly across products which can make sprint planning chaotic. Compensation is solid but not always market-leading in the Bay Area.

Technical Support Engineer Review

Customer SupportFull-timeOn-site
Jul 5, 2025

What I liked

Good exposure to customer issues and Fortinet products. The technical training is useful and there is a clear escalation path for complex problems.

Areas for improvement

Shifts can be unpredictable and weekends/late nights are common during escalations. Career progression is possible but needs active sponsorship.

Pre-Sales Engineer / Sales Engineer Review

SalesFull-timeHybrid
Apr 3, 2025

What I liked

Strong product portfolio (firewalls, Secure SD-WAN) and good brand recognition which makes selling easier. Lots of technical enablement and customer exposure.

Areas for improvement

Quota pressure can be high and commission structure is complex. Salary bands in EMEA felt conservative compared to peers.

What I liked

Strong focus on customer needs and security research. Lots of opportunities to work cross-functionally with engineering and sales. Good training programs and conferences.

Areas for improvement

Sometimes long hours around releases and product roadmaps change rapidly. Processes can vary by region which adds friction.
